Ned Phillips
Ned Phillips is a filmmaker based in Durham, North Carolina. He graduated from Goucher College and went on to earn a certificate in Documentary Arts from the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University. Since then, he has shot and edited multiple films, including the documentary feature Truth Underground (2016), which played at Cucalorus, RiverRun International Film Festival, Sebastopol Documentary Film Festival, and others. Ned was the director of photography for G Yamazawa's award-winning music video "North Cack" (2017), which aired on BET and has more than four million views on Facebook. Ned's directorial debut, "The Maestro" (2018), was an official selection to the RiverRun International Film Festival. Ned is currently collaborating with Victoria Bouloubasis on the documentary The Last Partera.
Bradley Bethel
Bradley Bethel is a high school English teacher and filmmaker originally from Toledo, Ohio, but now living in central North Carolina. He has produced multiple films, including the documentary shorts Radioactive Veteran (2016), Robeson Rises (2018), and The Maestro (2018), all of which screened at film festivals across the country. From 2019 to 2023, Bradley was the director of Carrboro Film Fest, and he continues to serve on the festival’s selection committee. Combining his interests in literature and documentary film, he has become especially interested in documenting the ways literature can have a profound impact on people’s lives. Bradley is currently working on a documentary short about a retiring National Parks ranger whose career and philosophy have been inspired by the novel The Lord of the Rings.
